Pennsylvania notaries are required by state law to have a 4 year, $10,000 Pennsylvania notary bond. The Pennsylvania notary surety bond protects the people of Pennsylvania from any mistakes you might make while performing your notarial duties.
In order to protect your personal financial assets, we highly recommend you also purchase E&O Insurance. E&O Insurance will protect you from damages that exceed the amount of the bond.

Pennsylvania Notary Surety Bond
Pennsylvania Notaries are required by state law to have a 4 year, $10K Notary Surety Bond. Add Notary E&O Insurance covering the term of your commission. The Travelers bond and insurance combo may only be purchased at the beginning of a commission term. In order to qualify for this product combination, you must meet our underwriting guidelines and purchase within six months of the start of the commission. If you fail to meet the underwriting guidelines, your payment will be refunded.
How to file your notary bond
Once you have received your notary bond letter from the state, send a copy of your bond letter to us at sales@notary.net. Your notary bond will then sent to you.
Filing your notary bond is the last step to becoming a Pennsylvania notary. Once you have received your bond, go to your county Recorder of Deeds to file your bond and take your oath of office. You must file your bond within 45 days from your appointment date.
If you have missed your bond filing date, you will need your bond amended. Please send an email to sales@notary.net with your order number and the dates that you need amended.
