How to Become an Arizona Notary Public Step-by-Step Guide
First-time Arizona notaries and renewing notaries must go through the same step-by-step process below.
1. Purchase an Arizona notary bond. You will need your bond before you can submit the notary application.
2. Complete the online Arizona notary public application on the Arizona Secretary of State's website (azsos.gov/business/notary-public). Print and sign the application. You cannot submit the application online. Make sure that your printed name and signature on the notary application match the printed name and signature on the notary bond.
3. Send your notary application, notarized bond, and $43 application fee to:
Secretary of State
Attn: Notary Dept.
1700 W. Washington Street, Fl. 7
Phoenix, AZ 85007-2808
Checks and money orders can be made out to the Arizona Secretary of State. All three items must be sent together for your application to be processed. It may take up to 4 weeks for your application to be processed from the date it was received by the Secretary of State.
4. Obtain an Official Arizona Notary Stamp and notary journal.
Congratulations! You are now an Arizona notary public!
