I'm aware I can work for myself. I'm more interested in working for someone else to get experience. I've applied at a few notary shop in my area and haven't gotten anywhere. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Are there any websites offering just notary positions?
Welcome and sorry it took so long for a response. I know when I first started 9 years ago, I also wanted some experience. I called on places like Mail Boxes, Etc., Aim Mail Center, Postal Annex, etc. Most had Notaries already, but I did find one that couldn't get his notary commission. I agreed to be on call for this company, it was only 10 minutes from my home. Up every day early, dressed professionally and ready.
I learned a great deal, working with people from all walks of life and many types of documents. Only problem, the owner took half my fee. I moved on quickly to bigger and better things, but gained much knowledge.
I know very few who look for just a Notary Public. You can try Craigs List, but most Notaries Public, simply work for themselves. General Notarizations can be very lucrative. I doubt most in a business setting would want you to simply sit all day and just notarize. You could go to work for a mail box type place, most have Notaries on duty. JMHO
