$25,000 Notary Bond - Notaries who have a $5,000 bond and who want to perform remote or electronic notarizations must obtain a $25,000 notary bond.

$30,000 Notary Bond - New and renewing notaries who want to perform traditional, remote, and electronic notarizations must obtain a $30,000 notary bond.

Become an Illinois notary in 3 easy steps:

Purchase a $5,000 Illinois notary bond (included in our notary supplies package and emailed to you). Your Illinois notary application is included on the bond.
Complete the Illinois notary application on the bond. Bring your application to an Illinois notary, who will administer the Oath and notarize your application.
Submit your notary application to the state.

Illinois Notary Stamp Requirements:

An Illinois notary stamp must contain:

1. A serrated or milled edge border in a rectangular form not more than 1 inch in height by 2 1/2 inches in length

2. The words “Official Seal”

3. The notary’s printed name

4. The words “Notary Public, State of Illinois”

5. The words “Commission No.” followed by the notary’s commission number

6. The words “My Commission Expires” followed by the notary’s commission expiration date.
