I recently passed my notary exam and completed my oath and bond with the county clerks office. I am purchasing my stamp and journal and had a question regarding my stamp. On my commission paperwork and bond my middle name was included, but when I signed my paperwork with the county clerk and SOS to be held on file, I did not include my middle name in my signature. Is my middle name required on my stamp and do I still sign my signature the way I did on file, without it? Or do they both need to be the same and I need to refile my signature? Thank you for any help!

Hello,

The name on your stamp has to exactly match the name on your Notary commission. If you aren't sure how your name is listed on your Notary commission, you can search for yourself here on the California Secretary of State website.

Best,

Cameron
