Texas Notary Stamp Requirements

A Texas notary stamp must clearly show, when embossed, stamped, or printed on a document:

  • The words “Notary Public, State of Texas” around a star of five points;
  • The notary public’s name;
  • The date the notary public’s commission expires; and
  • The notary’s ID number.

The seal may be a circular form not more than two inches in diameter, or a rectangular form not more than one inch in width and 2-1/2 inches in length.

The seal must have a serrated or milled edge border.

The seal must be affixed by a seal press or stamp that embosses or prints a seal that legibly reproduces the required elements of the seal under photographic methods.

Brother stamps are in a league of their own, featuring superior quality impressions at 600 dpi and up to 50,000 impressions with proper re-inking.  Brother notary stamps use oil-based inks. In our opinion, the Brother 2260 Elite is the best notary stamp.

Trodat stamps feature a see-through base and a replaceable and refillable ink cartridge. Trodat stamps come in over a dozen different colors. Features include:

  • A clear base so you can see exactly where you are stamping
  • A refillable ink cartridge, allowing you to add thousands more impressions to your stamp
  • A replaceable ink cartridge, allowing you to change ink color by changing cartridges
  • Water-based ink, resulting in very little bleed-through
  • 100% compatible with the Ideal series of stamps

PSI stamps are made from 50% recycled plastic. Above all, our PSI stamps feature laser print quality impressions at 300 dpi, and last twice as long as a traditional self-inking stamp.

1 review for Texas Notary Stamp

  1. 5 out of 5

    Adrienne Fuchshuber (verified owner)

    I wasn’t originally going to give a 5 star review, because I ordered this stamp in the color “mint” and on both my phone and computer it appeared to be a very pretty mint/aqua color (which is the entire theme of my office space) and when it arrived it was a dull, jade green- nothing like the pictures, which was disappointing. The company reached out via email to ask if I was satisfied with my stamp and I told them the color was wrong, they agreed the actual stamps are darker than the factory photos, and asked if I wanted them to send me a new one. I didn’t want to be difficult but asked if I could exchange it for another color, and the response was, “4 years is a long time to hate your stamp, another one is on the way”- WHAT a pleasant surprise!! Not to mention I don’t have to go through the trouble of returning the other one, which I thought was extremely kind and considerate. So despite my stamp being the wrong color, the customer service was SO exceptional I feel they deserve 5 stars. The stamp itself is great quality! Just be mindful before you purchase that the product itself will be darker than it appears in the factory photo. However, if for any reason you aren’t satisfied, you can rest assured they will do what they can to make you happy with your purchase. I definitely recommend this company, and I will be using this site for all of my future notary needs!
