Recently deployed my husband filled out and signed a POA and Will. He scanned and e-mailed them to me, he was not able to get them notarized in any way. Will I be able to take them to a notary to get them notarized without him physically being present? He is able to Skype and FaceTime, we have no idea how to go about solving this problem, I am located in Riverside County, California, please help.

California Notaries Public must follow the laws set by the State. We notarize signatures, not documents. Your husband would
need to be physically present in front of the Notary Public to have his signature notarized. Most military bases have Notaries on duty. I'm sure he can get this taken care of.

As far as a Last Will and Testament, a Notary in California would not notarize this document unless there was specific wording from an attorney, stating they wanted it notarized and the type of notarization.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but please Thank your husband for serving our country.
