When Notarizing an Auto Title do both the Seller and Buyer need to be present?

Hi Brandie,
I'm a new Notary and new to this website. I am not an expert at all, but it seems to me that you would only need the one person present whoever's signature you are Notarizing. So if Joe is the one who needs the notary, then you'd obviously need Joe present, not the other person because you are not notarizing the other person, just Joe.
